Why I'm a Habitual Reader:
Reading is more important to me than almost anything. I’m addicted. If it’s a good book, or even if it’s a bad book with an ok story, I’ll stay up all night reading. In some ways, I’m very picky about what I’ll read. Mostly it’s fantasy and science fiction, but I sometimes enjoy a good mystery as well. It doesn’t matter if the target audience is young adult, middle school, or adult, so long as the story is compelling, the writing is good, and the characters are doing the things I find interesting. I love when characters come into themselves, overcoming adversity and figuring out how to be who they want to be. I’m also a sucker for a romantic or funny story, preferably both together. Beautiful writing full of real emotion helps too. I love a story that can hit me where it counts--make me laugh, cry, and think.
I get very excited when I discover a new author or story that has everything that makes me happy, and can hardly wait to share with my friends.
