Why I'm a Habitual Reader:
Cereal boxes, graffiti, advertising on the bus, the small print. I read them all. I never leave the house without a book tucked in my purse, and usually have a book on CD playing in the car as I run around town. Some books are so good I listen to them on the way to work and then open the book up when I get home. Often I have more than one book going at a time, one fiction, and one non-fiction. And no matter how tired I am, there’s always time to read a chapter or two before the lights go out.
But as much as I love to read, I rarely read anything twice. I’ve downsized my home and no longer have the room to keep the number of books I once held on to. Besides, there are just too many books in my “to-be-read” pile to find time to reread anything – but I still have room for those cherished few I can’t bear to part with.
My taste in novels is eclectic. While I may write mysteries, my bookshelves spill over with science fiction, fantasy, biographies, romance, historical, the classics and nature books.
