Joanne Sundell Name: Joanne Sundell
City & State: Tabernash, Colorado
Vocation / Avocation: Nurse (inactive), women's fiction/romance writer

Why I'm a Habitual Reader:

Like many girls, I spent a lot of my time dreaming of and dreaming up fairy tales. I learned to "swoon" before I could walk and talk, I think, fast becoming a habitual romance reader. But then, once I attempted to write my own romances (spending a lot of time editing, mailing out queries, and jumping into the deep end of the critique pool) I stopped reading other writers. I'm happy to report that thanks to Stephen King's ON WRITING, I now read other writers again. Besides romance, I love biographies and ALL THINGS HARRY POTTER!

My List of Ten: Favorite Romantic Heroes and Heroines

1. Jane Eyre
Author: Charlotte Bronte
THE quintessential romance! Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester still resonate as THE FIRST COUPLE!

2. Pride and Prejudice
Author: Jane Austen
When Elizabeth Bennett at last realizes she loves Mr. Darcy, I still get chill bumps when he tells her that "my affection has not changed."

3. Persuasion
Author: Jane Austen
Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth still love each other, long after most would have given up. We "love" them both for it!

4. Emma
Author: Jane Austen
Emma and Mr. Knightly so misunderstand one another, yet are so meant to be.

5. Almost Heaven
Author: Judith McNaught
Elizabeth Cameron and Ian Thornton are thrown together in the highlands, and their repartee is delicious.

6. Something Wonderful
Author: Judith McNaught
Alexandra Lawrence and Jordan Townsende give us a 'ton' of fun.

7. Whitney My Love
Author: Judith McNaught
I'm still trying to put out the blaze of passions ignited between Whitney Stone and the Duke of Claymore!

8. Rebecca
Author: Daphne du Maurier
Rebecca and Mr. deWinter..."Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again." Need I say more?

9. The Black Lyon
Author: Jude Deveraux
Lady Lyonene and Ranulf de Warbrooke take your breath from their first meeting!

10. Wuthering Heights
Author: Emily Bronte
Cathy and Heathcliff are still passing out the Kleenex for us.
