Jackie Griffey Name: Jackie Griffey
City & State: Cabot, Arkansas
Vocation / Avocation: Writer

Why I'm a Habitual Reader:

Can't imagine life without a wealth of good books. From kindergarten through elementary school, reading Nancy Drew while my mother played bridge - reading is one of the pleasures of life. One thing that inspired me to write is to (hopefully) give someone else the pleasure I've always enjoyed reading a good book. My favorites are cozy mysteries, but I like romance-suspense, historical novels, and lots of humor. My heartfelt thanks to all the talented writers here and elsewhere.

My List of Ten: Mystery

1. Murder on a Bad Hair Day
Author: Anne George
A cozy with plot twists, belilevable characters and lots of humor. I have all eight of her books.

2. Hard Eight
Author: Janet Evanovich
A streetwise but naive Jersey girl fights crime as a bounter hunter. Her 'ho friend and wacky family crack me up-love Grandma Mazur.

3. Full Circle
Author: Pat Browning
It starts ot with two of my favorite things, old bones and small town serets - and there's going to be a sequel out soon.

4. My First Murder
Author: Susan P. Baker
Enjoyed Mavis Davis and her new case trying to solve a murder along with and sometimes in spite of her office help. Looking forward to The Sweet Scent of Murder, the next adventure.

5. Dying in Style
Author: Elaine Viets
Interesting learning about a mystery shopper's trials and triumphs with some fun along the way. Am going to check out more in both her series.

6. The Spring Cleaning Murders
Author: Dorothy Cannell
A delightful romp with Ellie and Roxie ferreting out dust mites and motives for murder - but, when is she going to write another book (selfish readers want to know?)

7. Malpractice in Maggody
Author: Joan Hess
Senior Citizen care problems take on a sinister look but Maggody can handle it in the usual practical-typical style. Hope Joan Hess is busy writing another one.

8. Dead Days of Summer
Author: Carolyn Hart
With Max framed and missing, I couldn't put this one down!

9. How to Murder a Millionaire
Author: Nancy Martin
Nora, society page columnist, and her sisters are characters you love to root for as they keep you in stitches. If you haven't met the Blackbird sisters, you have a treat in store.

10. Death of an Ordinary Guy
Author: Jo Hiestand
his guy is a Guy Fawkes effigy. I learned a lot and was royally entertained in my visit to an English village-and more adventures are coming.
